Professors led four courses in different disciplines:

  • Course one: One Health approach in surveillance and control of transboundary (animal) diseases, incl. Zoonoses - Professor Daniele De Meneghi, University of Turin.

  • Course three: Environmental and Energy Economics - Professor Jean Y. Ji, University of California, Davis.

Finally, below you will find some of the professor’s testimonies about their experience at International La Salle Summer Academy:

“As an international student, I have thoroughly understood the value of higher education, especially the opportunity to study abroad for the benefit of broadening one’s perspectives. In my mind, this is exactly the value of the Summer Academy: to provide students with an opportunity to learn and to experience something that broadens their horizons, (…) My students’ passions for the development and betterment of their country reminded me of the importance of not losing sight of my own research abilities and academic passions. To that end, I am grateful for an all-around extremely productive and fruitful Summer Academy experience” Jean Ji (UCDavis).

“My experience at La Salle University has been very memorable. The International Relations team did an outstanding job organizing and providing everything we needed to run the course. The students came with a proactive attitude and a desire to learn and ended up demonstrating the good quality of students they are and how the desire to learn helped them receive and apply what was taught. I had a group from different academic fields, and although it worried me a bit at first, because I did not know what to expect, it was so rewarding when seeing the final results” Mónica Sánchez (Ramón Llull).

“I enjoyed teaching in a different socio-cultural context and I Iiked the teaching atmosphere with my students. I found it interesting the panel involving all International teachers, the staff of the International Office and students of all Summer Academy courses; if I may suggest, for the future I would allow more time for discussion with students” Daniele De Meneghi (U.Torino).

Our institution thanks professor Daniele De Meneghi, Professor James B. Harr III, Professor Jean Y. Ji and Professor Mónica Sánchez for participating in this initiative, without their support it would not have been possible to provide these international opportunities to our students.
