Universidad de La Salle is excited to announce that Yenny Alejandra Saavedra, PhD student in Agrisciences from Faculty of Agricultural and animal sciences, was selected by the Fulbright Colombia to do a research internship at Michigan State University - MSU as part of her doctoral thesis “Genetic and epigenetic analysis of plants”. This call is one of the main educational program for students and researchers exchange between Colombia and the United States, it is designed to promote education, culture and science in order to contribute to the economic and social development of the country.
Yenny Alejandra will be financed for a 10 month research internship in the academic year 2023-2024. The purpose of the internship is to continue and strengthen her doctoral research that covers the study of plants genome, in this sense, she will be researching about different classes of herbicides, bioinformatics and others.
Additionally, she will attend regional and local meetings hosted by experts and institutions to present her research results; it will be a good opportunity to exchange knowledge and best practices, as well as explore future collaborations between Michigan State University - MSU and Universidad de La Salle.
