As part of its strategy to promote the internationalization of higher education and foster strategic alliances, the Universidad de La Salle, the Colombia Challenge Your Knowledge (CCYK) network, the Ministry of Education (MEN) and ICETEX were part of the country delegation at NAFSA 2023 that took place between May 31 and June 2 in Washington DC.
NAFSA is the largest international education conference in North America, bringing together institutions from more than 100 countries around the world to learn, to network, and to connect with experts interested in sharing good practices, mutual challenges, and opportunities in higher education.
In this year's edition, 38 Colombian HEIs participated thanks to the financial support of ICETEX and the active collaboration of the Ministry of Education (MEN). Thanks to the joint effort, the Colombian delegation were able to have meeting with key actors from the government of the United States, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia. with Brazilian and Argentine institutions and management of collaboration opportunities with Historically Black Colleges and Universities of the United States.
During the event, Unisalle had the opportunity to explore cooperation opportunities with institutions from Switzerland, Spain, France, Argentina, the United States, Belgium, South Korea, Portugal, Chile, Mexico and Canada. Additionally. Also, we participated in conferences and parallel sessions that addressed various issues related to international education. The outcomes of the participation in the event include new mobility agreements for students, faculty and staff, as well as the strengthening of alliances cooperation.
