La Salle University jointly hosted the Workshop “100k Strong in the Americas”

On May 24th, 2023, La Salle University and the United States Embassy in Colombia jointly hosted the Workshop “100k Strong in the Americas”. The workshop was led by Ms. Margarette Hug, Director of Regional Education Initiatives & Partnerships of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, and had the special participation of Ms. Carolyn Turpin, Public Affairs Officer of the Embassy.


The workshop had the participation of many representatives of universities from around the country, including Universidad Antonio Nariño, Universidad Externado, Unicorpas, Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, Universidad del Rosario, Universidad del Bosque, SENA, Universidad Industrial de Santander, Universidad de la Sabana, Universidad de Antioquia and Universidad Simón Bolívar, they discussed about their proposals and experiences of 100K Strong Innovation Fund program.

The 100K Strong Innovation Fund is the public-private sector collaboration between the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassy, and Partners of the Americas, working with regional private, public, and academic sectors to harness the power of education to expand inclusive exchange programs between the U.S. and Latin America and the Caribbean.   


La Salle University has received financial support for a total of 7 cooperation projects between 2014 and 2023, that strengthen and expands collaboration with universities in the United States. As a result of the recent 100K Strong Innovation Fund round, La Salle University receives financial support for the implementation of 3 project for international student mobility with the United States.
