Within the project “Cacao Innovation Rural Youth Lab: Instilling global values through shared agricultural activities” of the 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund, students from University of California, Davis, carried out their academic visit in La Salle University, Chapinero Campus in Bogotá and Utopía Campus in Yopal, between August 28th and September 7th. The students participated in different lectures, meetings and field visits where they explored and learned about the cocoa value chain in Colombia for the installation of the peace laboratory.
In addition, within academic agenda, different visits, meetings and approaches with companies and strategic allies took place, including Casa Luker, Luker Agrícola, Crepes & Waffles, Cacao Hunters, Wok and Fedecacao.

In partnership between La Salle University and University of California, Davis, the project involves professors and students from both institutions in the study of the cocoa value chain, from planting to processing, and develops strategies for strengthening the community development and sustainable cocoa production in rural areas of Colombia through the implementation of rural youth laboratories.
The Directorate of International and Interinstitutional Relations will continue to promote these initiatives and opportunities for student mobility with the support of national and international allies.
