A delegation from the University of Essex (UK) visited and toured La Salle University at the Chapinero Campus, including Mrs. Emma Burgess, Senior International Officer; Mrs. Lexa Olivera-Smith, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Language and Linguistics; and Mrs. Laura Sudulich, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Government.

An overview of the master's degree in Language Didactics and Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Foreign Languages was presented and joint activities were explored such as interdisciplinary seminars and online international collaboration as part of the visit.

In addition, the professor Lexa Olivera-Smith led the Master Class called “Situated learning: Application of socio-constructivist principles in the teaching of translation, interpreting and subtitling” with the aim of promoting reflection on the application of socio-constructivist principles in the teaching of TIS (translation, interpreting and subtitling). In particular, the discussion focused on the effectiveness and validity of situated learning, a methodology through which students learn the desired skills in authentic contexts, where social interaction and collaboration are essential elements.
