Women in Science: Students will carry out their internship in the United States

Our students Jennifer Larrarte, Yaritza Quevedo, Tatiana Montenegro and Ana Castillo were selected to represent Universidad de la Salle in the project: SoPEF 4 Life: Soil, People, the Environment, and Food for Life. This project will develop solutions for addressing climate change and soil degradation in rural areas of Colombia. Furthermore, this experience will allow them to share academic and intercultural spaces in Colombia and in the United States with students from Lewis University & University of Delaware.

The 100k Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund is the public-private sector collaboration between the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassies, Partners of the Americas, corporations, and foundations working together to stimulate new higher education partnerships between the United States and the rest of the Western Hemisphere. Thus, the International Affairs Office at Universidad de la Salle is committed to keep participating in these initiatives to benefit Lasallian community, so they can have intercultural experiences with our allied universities in the United States. Finally, we celebrate that 60% of students that participated in the call were women, that is, women in science are creating, participating and taking the leap in scientific and intercultural spaces.
