Study abroad at Lewis University

A group of 4 students from the Environmental and Sanitary Engineering program carried out a study abroad with the duration of one week in Romeoville and Chicago, United States.

In partnership with Lewis University, students from both institutions participated in the “Microbial Community Analysis of Soils” experience, learning laboratory techniques that can be applied to examine the impact of contaminants on soils. Students learned about soil microbes and their meaning, and the concepts behind laboratory techniques.

In addition, the students had the opportunity to get to know the city of Chicago, its architecture, museums and gastronomy; and interact with their colleagues at Lewis University in a multicultural and multidisciplinary classroom, contributing towards the construction of their global citizenship.
