Universidad de La Salle received an important recognition from the Congress of the Americas on International Education (CAIE), being the beneficiary of leading a parallel session on the topic "Community commitment: facing common challenges." The parallel session will highlight the strategies of Universidad de La Salle in the management of public-private alliances, with special emphasis on international collaboration, in the development of its unique educational project "Utopia". Through multi-stakeholder dialogue, the session will share success stories and lessons learned from community participation, peacebuilding and rural development in Colombia; It will explore internationalization activities to generate academic synergies; and discuss opportunities to leverage external resources through international grants.
Universidad de La Salle participated in the 7th edition of the Congress of the Americas on International Education (CAIE), organized by the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education, with the session "Internationalization of Higher Education for society: experiences of social responsibility of Colombia and Chile in partnerships for quality education and sustainable development".
The session allowed the sharing of experiences with Universidad de Talca (Chile) on social responsibility, strategic partnerships and the contribution from academia towards the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals. Universidad de La Salle focused its panel on the Utopia project as a Lasallian example of community engagement and rural development in Colombia, and specifically its contribution towards SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 10 – Reducing Inequality, SDG 16 – Peace and Justice and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
